sludge

the guys came to remove the old fridge and dryer today.... oh geeze. they were so not prepared for the big fridge.
somehow they were only informed of the torn apart dryer. So they left and came back with a dolly.
some nasty liquid sludge came out onto him and the floor when he removed the shelves of the fridge. I felt so bad that i hadn't even bothered to clean it. I was so preoccupied with the new one.
they do it for free but i tipped them anyways for their hard work.

the best part of the day was that mommy came to my house and thought i was missing. though i was in my bed sleeping? strange. my door was open so maybe she didn't bother to look??

So, Dervid is coming to Alaska because the phone company is going on strike. What a convenient way to get vacation time! That's when Lindsey will be here and she's never met him so she's thrilled. His reputation precedes him. Should be interesting. . .

I just made mashed potatoes with a wooden spoon. It was very lame, and I'm not sure they qualified as mashed, but they did the trick for me.

I'll work on it. She's in the middle of a freak out because she closed her arm in the drawer of the end table. She's done it a thousand times and hasn't figured out to not open the drawer anymore. Ha ha ha.

You know, how to use a hammer as a meat tenderizer, cooking with sub-par ingredients that cost a fortune that you can tell traveled many days to reach you, the ulu (realized it's very good for chopping nuts. they don't really fly everywhere like they sometimes can with a knife on a board. Also good for chopping herbs right into into oil for a spread.). All that and more!

WELL, THIS IS MY MAIDEN VOYAGE AT POSTING A BLOG. THANK GOD I HAVE GRANDCHILDREN WHO KEEP ME YOUNG AND REASONABLY UP TO DATE ON TECHNOLOGY!!
PHYLLIS AND I HAD A GREAT TRIP TO ITALY. TWO WEEKS WITH OUR BEST FRIENDS, BILL AND SUSAN LESTAGE BILL DID ALL THE WORK, PLANNED THE TRIP, MADE THE RESERVATIONS, DROVE THE CAR, ETC. WE SPENT THE FIRST WEEK IN THE HEEL OF THE BOOT SECTION OF ITALY. IT'S ALL FARMING, THIS AREA PRODUCES 75% OF ALL THE OLIVE OIL, 65% OF ALL THE WHEAT, ETC. IT'S A BEAUTIFUL AREA WITH MILES AND MILES OF COASTLINE AND ALMOST NO HOUSE ON THE OCEAN, JUST RAW UNUSED LAND. WE STAYED IN AN OLD MONASTERY THE FIRST NIGHT IN TRANI, RIGHT ON THE OCEAN. IT WAS STRANGE HAVING BREAKFAST IN THE CHAPEL!! WE THEN WENT TO A TOWN OUTSIDE OF LECCE AND STAYED IN A PRIVATE VILLA FOR TWO NIGHTS. HAD CHAMPAGNE ON THE OCEAN, THE ADRIATIC, OR THE MEDITERANEAN, OR THE TYRRHENIAN OR IONION SEA. IT WAS HARD KEEPING TRACK. WE THEN WENT TO NOCI AND STAYED IN TUILLI HUTS, REALLY AMAZING. THEY WERE ORIGINALLY FARM BUILDING USED TO STORE EQUIPMENT OF PRODUCE AND THEN WERE CONVERTED TO HOUSING. THEY LOOK LIKE IGLOOS EXCEPT MADE WITH STONE. THEY'RE EVERYWHERE IN THIS ONE SECTION OF ITALY, NOCI AND AEREOBELLO. WE THEN WENT TO RAVELLO WHERE PHYLLIS AND SUSAN ATTENDED A COOKING CLASS WITH THE JULIA CHILDS OF ITALY---MAMA AGATA. AN ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL PLACE OVERLOOKING THE OCEAN AND WITH LAND ALL THE WAY DOWN WHERE THEY RAISED ALL THERE VEGETABLES, HERBS AND ANIMALS LIKE RABBIT AND CHICKEN, ETC. THEN WE WENT TO THE AMALFI COAST AND STAYED IN SOME GREAT PLACES AND ATE IN SOME MARVELOUS RESTAURANTS. POSITANO, CAPRI, SORRENTO, AND NAPOLI. THEN HOME AND AS ALWAYS, GLAD TO GET THERE!! IT WAS A GREAT TRIP. SORRY TO TAKE SO LONG DESCRIBING IT. PAPA

How about the picture of the three of us, too? the one on this page. Any larger version of that? So we can all marvel at my chub and how prissy erica is. I love her pose in that picture. It's especially awesome that you two are posing and I'm just eating my popsicle. They probably just had to tell you guys to go find me wherever I was eating and stand next to me and pose for a picture while I munched.

Diapers have certainly come a long way.

Wow, they're huge. Elton's butt looks really skinny. I'm surprised to see Sagan hanging out with you while you're outside! Usually he's a tough guy outside and doesn't want to hang out.

I finally get to pick up packages today!! woowoooo! How exciting! Lorrahn said there's something that should be here today. I also ordered something from Amazon.com with the giftcard I got from Bank of America when they were jerks. It left Anchorage at 10am on Thursday, which means I should hope it makes it here by today!! If not for the holiday I'd say I should have had it yesterday. In fact, it's probably been sitting at the post office since Thursday night. I can't wait for my surprises!

some funny thing going on in that picture of her. her hair is usually pretty flat. getting blonder & blonder though! she still has the double crown, and it swirls around on the back but lays flat. i usually push it to one side because it looks cuter that way! and yes, tyler is a ham.

Berwick, or maybe North Berwick. Same place we went for our honeymoon. I was looking for pictures of Swampscott a week ago. Go to Flickr, there are tons of pics searchable by category. Just the fireworks for us then we're off to a getaway from the world! Can't Wait!
